5,092 hours of music available, that is 61,625 tracks by 4,732 artists and 525 labels under 44 licenses, played or downloaded 227,421,981 times over 8,112 days, totally quietly and totally legally.

Every track is under a free or open licence, chosen by the artist. Depending on which one, a lot of rights are granted to you upfront.

The most permissive, CC BY, allows any use as long as you credit the author and the licence — including commercial use, with nothing owed in return, which comes in handy for the soundtrack of a monetised video. At the other end of the spectrum, CC BY-NC-ND only allows unmodified copies, outside any commercial context.

In between, some licences allow remixing, commercially or not, sometimes on condition that the remix is itself released under a free licence. The details are in the licence table in our documentation.

Who runs the place

A nonprofit, not a platform

Dogmazic is published by Musique Libre !, a French nonprofit based in Lyon. No shareholders, no ads, no data resale: the site runs on donations, memberships and volunteer time.

Mobile apps

Dogmazic is compatible with any application supporting the standard Ampache or Subsonic APIs (yes, even on your smart TV). Just search for a Subsonic or Ampache compatible application among the ones available for your device, and type in play.dogmazic.net as the server address.

Please note all mobile application compatible with Ampache and Subsonic will not mandatory require that you have an account on our server to start to listen to Dogmazic. As an example Power Ampache 2 in its free version available on the Play Store interracts as is with Dogmazic. Also it is on F-Droid.
