un des premiers projets de dana hilliot. Le groupe a juste sorti un lp en 2002 sur le label another record. Juanra from moonpalace recordings wrote about tino : 'Sometimes you just can't but bless the guys who created MP3. 'Cause digging the Net from link to link is the only way i could find my new favourite album: frenchmen Tino's 'Stalone'. Using as a point of reference some of the most emotional and moving bands from the last few years -such as The Cure, Arab Strap or Whipping Boy among others-, 'Stalone' creates an storm of absolutely irressistible feelings. Evocating Robert Smith and fellows from the opening 'Afgan Exile', this piece of work grows on paths of breath-taking strength. Tino's roots - such as Arab Strap in 'Swap', 'Fuck the City' or 'Links', get emphasized thanks to an Aidan Moffat voice lookalike and through the mood, dark and broody settings ('Full of Darkness') and the harder passages of 'Days', next to the very best of 'Whipping Boy'. And everything under the dark litanys and self confessions from Moffat & Co. An amazing work, not only from it's exposition but also in the way it synthesizes their favourite bands and albums. Thus, from a distant roots, it creates a whole, both fascinating and coherent. An album full of mistery and intensity that cannot fail to move anyone. Through the spoken confessions and the post-crying strength of it's ever-growing songs, i've rescued many albums i left latent in my mind.
